Social Media Management Policy
Chapter 1: General Provisions
(Definition)
Article 1 This policy sets forth the basic management principles, rules of use, and disclaimers regarding the operation of official social media (SNS) accounts (hereinafter referred to as "Official Accounts") managed by the Okinawa Goju-ryu Karate-do International Shorei-kai (hereinafter referred to as "the Association"). The objective of this policy is to ensure appropriate information dissemination by the Association and to foster healthy communication with users.
(Scope and Targeted Accounts)
Article 2 This policy applies to the operators of the Official Accounts (the Association Secretariat and authorized personnel) and all users of the Official Accounts (hereinafter referred to as "Users").
(2) This policy applies to the following Official Accounts, as well as any social media services added or expanded by the Association in the future:
a. X (formerly Twitter)
b. Instagram
c. Facebook
d. Note
e. Any other social media platforms officially launched by the Association.
Chapter 2: Operation Policy
(Operating Body and Content)
Article 3 The operating body of the Official Accounts shall be the Secretariat of the International Shorei-kai.
(2) The Official Accounts shall disseminate the following information:
a. Activity reports, tournament information, and event schedules of the Association.
b. Information regarding the history, philosophy, and technical systems of Goju-ryu Karate.
c. Information on dojos and branches, and recruitment for trial lessons.
d. Other public notices related to the Association.
(Management of Personal Information)
Article 4 Any personal information acquired by the Association through the operation of the Official Accounts or via Direct Messages (hereinafter referred to as "DMs")—such as names and contact details—shall be managed and utilized strictly and appropriately in accordance with the Association's separately established "Privacy Policy."
(Response to Comments and DMs)
Article 5 As a general rule, the Association is not obligated to reply to comments posted on the Official Accounts.
(2) The Association may use DMs to accept applications for dojo tours/trial lessons and legitimate inquiries regarding the Association's activities.
(3) Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the Association will not respond to any comments or DMs that contain the following:
a. Defamatory content against the Association, its members, or third parties.
b. Content for commercial purposes, such as sales, advertising, or solicitation.
c. Content unrelated to the activities of the Association.
d. Any other content that falls under the prohibited acts listed in the following article.
Chapter 3: Prohibited Acts
(Prohibited Acts for Users)
Article 6 Users must not engage in any of the following acts when using the Official Accounts (including viewing, commenting, sharing, and sending DMs). If the Association determines that a User's actions fall under any of these categories, it may take appropriate measures, such as deleting comments or blocking the account, without prior notice:
a. Acts that violate laws, ordinances, or public order and morals, or acts that pose a risk of doing so.
b. Acts that damage the honor or credibility of the Association, other users, or third parties (including libel and slander).
c. Acts that infringe upon the copyrights, portrait rights, or other intellectual property rights of the Association, other users, or third parties.
d. Acts that infringe on privacy, such as identifying, disclosing, or leaking personal information without the individual's consent.
e. Acts related to commercial, political, or religious activities for the benefit of specific individuals or organizations.
f. Impersonating the Association or a third party.
g. Disseminating false information or content that differs from the facts.
h. Acts unrelated to the purpose or content of the Official Accounts.
i. Acts that violate the terms of use set by each social media platform provider.
j. Any other acts deemed inappropriate by the Association.
Chapter 4: Rights and Disclaimers
(Ownership of Intellectual Property Rights)
Article 7 Intellectual property rights (copyrights, etc.) for photos, illustrations, audio, videos, and articles posted on the Official Accounts belong to the Association or the respective legitimate rights holders.
(2) Users must not reproduce, divert, or modify the content without permission, except when using functions officially provided by the social media platforms (e.g., reposting, sharing) or when permitted under copyright law, such as "reproduction for private use" or "quotation."
(Disclaimers)
Article 8 While the Association takes the utmost care regarding the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of the information provided on the Official Accounts, it does not guarantee these aspects.
(2) The Association shall not be held liable for any damages arising from a User's use of, or inability to use, the information on the Official Accounts.
(3) The Association shall not be held liable for any troubles or resulting damages occurring between Users or between a User and a third party.
(4) The Official Accounts are operated through the systems of the respective social media platform providers. The Association will not respond to inquiries regarding the functions, safety, or usage status of these platforms.
Chapter 5: Miscellaneous Provisions
(Revision of the Operation Policy)
Article 9 The Association may revise this policy without prior notice if deemed necessary. The revised policy shall become effective from the time it is published on the Association's website or other designated media.
Supplementary Provisions
(Effective Date)
Article 1 This policy shall be implemented and applicable starting from May 5, 2026 (Tokyo Time).
